When I was 21 I had no idea what my life would become. I was drifting around, unsure of where I should go. At one point I seriously considered a life in the Culinary field or the DNR. But nothing felt like it fit.

At the time I was a dancer for a semi-pro basketball team and arena football team. I felt alive and I loved the commardre. It was then in March of 1998 I met the love of my life, Lane.

When I met Lane I was at a crossroads in my life. My boyfriend of three years had broken up with me and moved to another state. Originally, I was supposed to go with him but he found someone new, but not before I put in my notice at work and at my apartment. So, here I was with no job and no apartment. Lane had a roommate move out and offered me to stay with him.

Together, we embarked on this journey of self discovery both as individuals and as a couple. We had to find ourselves and it just so happened to be that our paths were joined. Whenever we were separated from our joint path it wasn’t for long.

There were some very difficult times  that we struggled but we pushed through.

One day after 15 years of marriage it was if I was blind and I could suddenly see. The issues that may had bothered me before no longer did. I found more joy in his company than ever before. Laughter became out new language.

Being with Lane is easy. Like breathing. This is the inspiration for Last Kiss.
